CMD, NSIC addressed the 19th CII India-Africa Business Conclave 2024

Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, Chairman-Cum-Managing Director, NSIC, addressed the session on “Creating Employability in Africa for Sustainable Human Capital Growth,” held on August 22, 2024, during the 19th CII India-Africa Business Conclave in New Delhi from August 20-22, 2024.

Dr. Acharya spoke about NSIC’s services in MSME development in India and other countries. He highlighted the strategic establishment of Rapid Incubation Centres and Vocational Training Centres by NSIC across various African nations. These initiatives are instrumental in empowering young entrepreneurs with the requisite skills and knowledge, thereby facilitating sustainable economic development through creation of employment opportunities.

The session also featured distinguished panelists, including Mr. Puneet R. Kundal, Additional Secretary (E&SA), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India; H.E. Mrs. Sabine Djimouko, Advisor to the President on Education, Republic of Chad; H.E. Dr. Tambo Gina, Minister of Economic Planning and Development, Kingdom of Eswatini; and H.E. Mr. Abdou Jobe, Minister for Tourism and Culture, Republic of The Gambia.

The Conclave witnessed participation from over 47 African countries, with nearly 650 representatives from government and business sectors. Additionally, more than 350 representatives from the Indian industry attended the event.
