NSIC has entered into MOU agreement with Kotak Mahindra Bank recently to strengthen its sustained endeavors towards facilitating credit for sustainable development of MSMEs in the country. Under this tie up arrangement Kotak Mahindra Bank becomes the 28th commercial bank to enter into this unique alliance with NSIC. This agreement not only aims to support MSMEs to meet their credit needs but also encourages them for being rated under Performance and Credit Rating Scheme in order to combat emerging global challenges. The MOU was signed by Sh. Gaurang Dixit, General Manager (Finance) NSIC and Sh. Sumit Bali, Division Head, Business Banking Assets of Kotak Mahindra Bank in the presence of CMD (NSIC) Sh. Ravindra Nath.

NSIC participated in “IKAT ART MELA” (Hyderabad) organised by M/s. Pochampally Handloom Park Ltd. Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC along with Shri P. Udaykumar, Director (P&M) visited the “IKAT ART MELA”. CMD NSIC encouraged all participating weavers units to avail the benefits of NSIC B 2 C Portal for global marketing of their product.

Shri S.N. Tripathi, IAS, Jt. Secretary, MSME during his recently visit to IKAT ART MELA” (Hyderabad) appreciated the NSIC- Exhibition-cum-Marketing Development Business Park Hyderabad. The newly built EMDBP is a five-storied building with a covered area of approx.15,000 sqm and the ground floor is utilized for the exhibition where the exhibition “IKAT ART MELA” organised by M/s. Pochampally Handloom Park Ltd., & MSME-EXPO-2014 was organised by MSME-DI, Hyderabad.The theme of MSME-expo was Vendor Development. 100 units including Banks & PSUs displayed their products/schemes during this exhibition.The NSIC participation was managed by Shri B.Sivaram,DGM,NSIC-EMDBP Hyderabad.

A Report on MSME sector growth in the State of Uttrakhand was presented by Shri Ravindra Nath CMD, NSIC to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Harish Rawat during the Samay Udyami -2014 Awards organised by Samay News Network. The report highlights the industrial scenario of Uttrakhand ,the status of MSME sector and the problems being faced by this sector. The report also brings out various suggestions/ improvements required for the growth of MSME sector in Uttrakhand .On this occasion,the Hon`ble Chief Minister Shri Harish Rawat appreciated the role of NSIC in employment creation as also development of MSMEs through its package of Schemes and urged Shri Ravindra Nath,CMD,NSIC to set up NSIC -Incubation Centres for employment creation in different parts of the State of Uttrakhand.The Hon`ble Minister MSME (Government of Uttrakhand) and Principal Secretary ,MSME (Govt. of Uttrakahand) were also present on this occasion

NSIC observed National Unity day on 31st October 2014 . Shri A.K.Mittal, CGM(SG),NSIC administered the “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” pledge to all the Officers and Employees of the Corporation in the spirit of unification of my country which was made possible by the vision and actions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.The pledge followed collective singing of the National Anthem.

Sh. P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) NSIC was the key note speaker in the 5th Annual Conference on MSMEs - "Gearing up to Global Competitiveness" organised by Maharashtra Economic Development Council (MEDC) & Indian Education Society (IES) on September 10, 2014 at Bandra, Mumbai. He highlighted the emerging opportunities for the MSMEs from the futuristic areas and persuaded the MSMEs on the need for capacity build up and technology infusion. Mr. Vinod Tawade, Leader of Opposition, Maharashtra State, Cdr. Dipak Naik, President, Sh. Chandrashekar Prabhu, Director General, MEDC, Sh. Shriram Dandekar, Regional Director, MEDC and Sh. Hemraj Singh, CGM-SG(West) also participated in the event.

Sh. P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) NSIC participated in the India Show Exhibition in Moscow, Russia from 23rd - 26th Sept,2014 organised by M/s. FIEO, New Delhi. NSIC supported about 17 MSMEs for participation in this event under the Marketing Assistance Scheme. Mr. Rajiv Kher, IAS, Secretary (Deptt. of Commerce), Govt. of India and Sh. P.S. Raghavan, Ambassador of India to Russia are seen with Sh. P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) NSIC during their visit to NSIC`s Stall. H.E. Mr. Alexey Likhachev, Dy. Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. S.N. Yastrebov, Governor of Yaroslavl Region, Russia, Mr. Ravi Capoor, IAS, Jt. Secretary, Deptt. Of Commerce, Govt of India, Mr. Rafeeque Ahmed, President, FIEO also visited NSIC`s Stall.

The MoU was signed between Mr. Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC and Dr. Tebogo Matome, CEO, Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), Botswana on 3rd October, 2014 in Gaborone, Botswana, to share their best practices for the development and growth of MSMEs in their respective countries. The MoU envisages setting up of Technology cum Business Incubator Centres, developing policies and Institutional framework for MSME development in Botswana.

Dr. Tebogo Matome, CEO, Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), Botswana meeting Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC during his visit to Botswana. During the meeting LEA expressed interest in setting up a pilot Rapid Incubation Centre in Gaborone, Botswana on the lines of NSIC Incubation Centre at New Delhi, India as well as other avenues of the cooperation in the field of MSME sector were discussed.

NSIC organized a nationwide campaign beginning from 25th Sept.2014 at all the NSIC offices across the country. Sh. P Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) administered a "Swachhta Shapath" (Pledge) to the employees on 2nd October 2014 at the Head Office. Speaking on the occasion, Shri P.Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing), NSIC stated that each one of us knows about the importance of cleanliness and Hygienic work environment which can improve the productivity considerably.He further requested that such full effort must be put by employees & their family members to involve participation of all sections of the society to bring about mass awareness and lasting behavioral change to achieve this goal and make this campaign a great success. The similar types of programme were organized and pledge was administered in all field offices of NSIC.

Shri Kalraj Mishra, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Micro ,Small and Medium Enterprises received a dividend cheque of Rs.15.19 crores for the year 2013-14 from Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC in the presence of Shri Madhav Lal, Secretary, Ministry of MSME and Shri S.K.Tripathi,Joint Secretary, MSME and other officials of Ministry of MSME. Shri Ravindra Nath,CMD,NSIC informed that this is the highest dividend ever paid by NSIC.The Corporation has done an overall business of Rs. 17,444 crore in 2013-14, posting a 25% growth from its previous year, its Gross Income has gone upto Rs.418.04 crore registering a growth of 22% and Profit before Tax for the year was Rs.114.71 crore posting an increase of 24% from the previous year.

Shri P.Udayakumar, Director(P&M), NSIC delivered the Special Address in the FICCI-CMSME Summit on “MSME Prosperity: Reinvigorate the MSME Ecosystem” on 19.8.2014 in New Delhi. DPM highlighted opportunities arising out of the Government`s initiatives like Public Procurement Policy, Defence Sector (Offset & Indigenization) and FDI in Railways and other emerging sectors. He urged the MSMEs to scale up the capacity and upgrade the technology to meet the challenges.
