NSIC was awarded as “Best MSME Facilitation Partner at 48th India-International Business Summit on 14 June, 2019 at New Delhi.

48th India-International Business Summit, organized by Indian Achievers Forum on June 14 at New Delhi was attended by NSIC along with policy makers, academia, entrepreneurs, bankers and industry leaders.

NSIC was awarded as “Best MSME Facilitation Partner” for Outstanding Professional Achievement and Inspiring Social Contributions by Ram Mohan Mishra, Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner, MSME & H.E. Desire Koumba, Ambassador of Gabon at 48th India-International Business Summit on 14 June, 2019 at New Delhi. 
Award was received by Sh. Vidya Sagar Singh, GM-BD on behalf of the Corporation.

On the occasion, the Union minister of state for MSME, animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries, Pratap Chandra Sarangi felicitated several achievers in various fields of life and corporate social responsibility.

Earlier, the inauguration session was addressed by several dignitaries including former Union Minister KV Thomas, H.E. Yogesh Punja, High Commissioner of Fiji, Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, SN Tripathi, Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Ramanan Ramanathan, Mission Director – Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog.

The daylong Summit witnessed two panel discussions. The first one was on the topic - ‘Leadership and Professionalism in MSMEs’. The session was moderated by S Ravishankar, Secretary, Indian Achievers Forum. The panelists in the session were: Pradeep Sharma, AGM, SBI, Vidya Sagar Singh, GM- NSIC, Ashutosh Rath, Head-Corp Comm, NALCO, Gaurav Kapoor, Regional Head – North, NSE and Anshul Garg, MD – Mohan-Electro Casting Pvt Ltd.

The topic of second panel discussion was ‘Emerging global business opportunities for Indian Businesses’.

The valedictory session was addressed by H.E. Desire Koumba, Ambassador of Gabon, H.E. Archil Dzuliashvili, Ambassador of Georgia, Ram Mohan Mishra, Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner, MSME and Stuti Kacker, former chairperson NCPCR.

Over 200 delegates across the country from several fields of work participated in the event.

NSIC celebrates 5th International Yoga Day 2019

All NSIC offices across the country celebrated International   Yoga Day 2019 on 21st June 2019 from 7 AM to 8 AM with drill of the Common Yoga Protocol. The Yoga Sessions were held across the country in association with Industry Associations, Chamber of Commerce, Institutions, etc. The NSIC offices were also illuminated on the eve of IDY 2019 to commemorate the observance of 5th International Yoga Day 2019. 100 Officers/Staff participated in the Yoga session held at Corporate Office New Delhi.

Inaugural function for skill training on "repair and maintenance of agri-implements through welding technology" with financial assistance for 60 nos.

NSIC Technical Services Centre , Rajpura organized inaugural function for start of skill training on "repair and maintenance of agri-implements through welding technology" with financial assistance from NABARD . Under the programme skill training shall be imparted to 60 nos of beneficiaries on repair and maintenance of agri implements through welding technology .
Present on the occasion Shri J P S Ahuja ,AGM (DDM), NABARD, Patiala shared the need for skill training for rural unemployed youth on repair and maintenance of agri implements through welding technology. Shri Ahuja also shared that many more such programme shall be conducted in association with NSIC Technical Services , Centre, Rajpura during current financial year. Present on the occasion, Shri Deepak Shrivastava , President , Micro small medium industries association, Rajpura shared the skill manpower requirement of MSME's of the region specially in the area of welding like ARC Welding,Gas welding, MIG Welding  etc. Shri Shrivastva shared that program will not only support MSME's by providing skilled manpower in welding but also support/encourage trainees  to start their own business/enterprise. Present on the occasion ,Shri Ravi Kumar ,Vice President ,Micro small medium industries association, Rajpura asked trainees to focus more  on practical's than theory on welding like ARC Welding,GAS welding , MIG Welding etc. and avoid abscentism during the training course. Shri Kumar also shared that fabrication industry like truck body building,agri implement manufacturers ,machine tool industry etc  require quality welders and program will support  aforesaid industries in providing skilled manpower in welding.   Shri Ram Kumar Yadav ,DGM and Centre Head shared about NSIC Schemes and various skill training courses undertaken at the Centre for the support of MSME's.

Inaugurating the Swatchtha Pakhwada ( 16- 30 June 2019) in The National Small Industries Corporation ltd ,Shri Ram Mohan Mishra, AS & DC (MSME) and CMD, NSIC led   the administration of  "Swatchhata Pledge" amongst the NSIC employees. Speaking on the occasion , he motivated  the employees to participate enthusiastically in keeping their environment clean and healthy and contribute whole heartedly to the National Mission of creating  'Swatch Bharat. Also present on this occasion were Shri Navin Chopra,CGM(SG)NSIC and Shri Gaurang Dixit, CGM(Fin), NSIC .

Goa State Industries Association (GSIA) organised the 4th South India MSME summit on 31.05.2019. Shri. Rajkumar Kamat, President, GSIA & Vice – Chairman JAC was the host of the summit. Summit deliberated on the problems faced by the sector and make recommendations to the government for sustainable growth for MSME's in the country. Hon. Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant  was the Chief Guest of the event. The summit was presided over by Mr. Basavaraj S. Javali, Chairman JAC & President, Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association, Bengaluru.

Shri  Navin Chopra, CGM(SG), NSIC alongwith NSIC employees administered the pledge on World No Tobacco Day (WNTD). The focus of World No Tobacco Day 2019 is on "tobacco and lung health." Every year, on 31 May, the World Health Organization (WHO) and global partners celebrate World No Tobacco Day (WNTD). The annual campaign is focused on  raising awareness on the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and second-hand smoke exposure, and to discourage the use of tobacco in any form.Shri Gaurang Dixit,CGM(Fin),NSIC alongwith other senior officers was also present on this occasion.

Shri P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) addressed the Indian diaspora in the programme organised by PIOCCI in Dubai on 27th May, 2019

Shri P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) was invited by PIOCCI (Platform for Indian to operate, Co-operate Collaborate and invest) a global business platform for Indian diaspora to address the Non-resident Indians during the IFTAR event of Gulf chapter of PIOCCI on 27th May, 2019. DPM spoke about the existing SME friendly Eco system in India and the opportunities available for SMEs of both the countries to increase the trade between them. Major initiatives taken by the Ministry of MSME including digital initiatives during the last 3-4 years were also briefed by DPM to the gathering of around 200 NRIs.
DPM also had a meeting with the Ambassador of India in UAE Sh. Navdeep Singh Suri and discussed about the possibilities of increasing the trade between the SMEs of both the countries.

The National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) signs the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for the year 2019-20.

The National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) signs the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for the year 2019-20. The MOU was signed by Shri Ram Mohan Mishra, AS & DC (MSME) and CMD (NSIC) with Dr. Arun Kumar Panda, Secretary, MSME, Govt. of India in the presence of Ms. Alka Nangia Arora, Joint Secretary, SME, Ms Mercy Epao, Director (SME), Shri P. Udayakumar, Director -P&M (NSIC) and Shri A.K. Mittal, Director-Finance (NSIC).

The said MoU envisages provision of enhanced services by NSIC under its Marketing, Financial, Technology and Other support services schemes, for MSMEs in the country. The Corporation projects to increase ‘Revenue from Operation’ by 22% from           Rs. 2540 crore in the year 2018-19 to 3100 crore in the year 2019-20. Corporation also projects growth of 32% in ‘Profitability’ during the year 2019-20.  NSIC also plans to enhance its activities in the areas of imparting entrepreneurship and skill development training by targeting 45% growth in the number of trainees.

Under the scheme of National SC-ST Hub, being implemented by NSIC on behalf of the Ministry, NSIC’s continued endeavour shall be to provide assistance to the SC/ST Entrepreneurs through different interventions and various outreach activities with the overall objectives to increase their participation in public procurement.

Dr. A.K. Panda, Secretary, MSME, while appreciating the performance of NSIC, urged the Corporation to create niche activities for itself. He also suggested that greater efforts be made to expand reach of NSIC so as to serve larger number of MSMEs.
