NSIC organizes India-Taiwan SME Cooperation Forum

NSIC, on behalf of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, successfully hosted the 4th India–Taiwan SME Cooperation Forum: Driving the Future of Automotive & EVs on September 11, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, India Expo Centre, Greater Noida. The event was held alongside the 5th EV India Expo 2025.
The Forum commenced with opening remarks from the Co-chairs—Ms. Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary (SME), Ministry of MSME, and Dr. GJ Lee, Director General, SMESA, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan. This was followed by keynote addresses delivered by Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, CMD, NSIC, and Dr. Lewis Chen, General Director, ITRI, Taiwan. Key segments of the Forum featured insightful presentations by industry experts and a thought-provoking panel discussion on emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in the EV sector.

CMD, NSIC inaugurates the 5th EV India Expo

Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, Chairman and Managing Director, NSIC, along with Ms. Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary-SME, Ministry of MSME, jointly inaugurated the 5th edition of EV India Expo at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida.
Organized by Indian Exhibition Services in collaboration with the Green Society of India, the expo serves as a premier platform advancing India’s transition toward sustainable and electric mobility.
The inauguration ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries, followed by a guided tour of the exhibition. They commended the diverse array of cutting-edge innovations and emerging technologies showcased by participants in the electric vehicle sector.

Visit of Delegation from Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan on September 09, 2025

Mr. Lewis Chen, General Director of the Commercialization and Industry Service Center, ITRI visited NSIC on September 09, 2025 along with Ms. Joyce Chang, Administrator, ITRI. 
During the visit, the delegation engaged in comprehensive discussions with NSIC leadership, exploring opportunities to strengthen bilateral collaboration in the MSME sector, with a particular emphasis on skill development in emerging technologies. The visiting officials were given an overview of NSIC’s advanced training programs and strategic initiatives designed to accelerate Industry 4.0 adoption among Indian MSMEs. 
The NSIC team was led by Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, Chairman and Managing Director, along with Mr. Kartikeya Sinha, Director (P&M). Also present during the discussion were Mr. O.P. Singh, Senior General Manager (Technology), and officials from the International Cooperation Division.

Shri Ravinder Singh (Indraj) Hon’ble Minister (Welfare of SC/ST/OBC Govt. of NCT of Delhi), visited NSIC Head Office & NTSC Okhla, New Delhi

Shri Ravinder Singh (Indraj) Hon’ble Minister (Welfare of SC/ST/OBC Government of NCT of Delhi), visited NSIC Head Office & NSIC-Technical Services Centre, Okhla, New Delhi on 10th September 2025.

During his visit, the Hon’ble Minister was given a detailed presentation on the activity of NSIC and the skilling initiatives of NTSCs. The same was followed by detailed deliberation on strengthening collaboration in the areas of skill development and entrepreneurship promotion for the weaker sections of society at Delhi.

The Hon’ble Minister emphasized the need to resume training programs for marginalized groups and expressed his vision to replicate NSIC’s skilling and entrepreneurship model at few more locations at Delhi. He also interacted with the trainees’ undergoing programs at NTSC, appreciated their dedication, and lauded NSIC’s role in empowering youth through skill-based initiatives.

The National Small Industries Corporation celebrated seven decades of service to the nation on 02nd September, 2025 at New Delhi in the presence of eminent dignitaries including Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, Hon’ble Minister of MSME, Govt. of India, Shri S.C.L. Das, Secretary (MSME), Dr. Rajneesh, AS & DC(MSME), Govt. of India, Ms. Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary (MSME) and Dr. S. S. Acharya, CMD, NSIC besides Directors of NSIC, senior officials from Govt. of India, Niti Aayog, Industry Associations and MSME enterprises etc.
 
The dignitaries hailed the important role of NSIC in serving a vibrant sector of Indian economy and exhorted it to have a roadmap for serving the nation for next 70 years. The event witnessed inaugural Foundation Day Lecture delivered by the Chief Economic Advisor, Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran who dealt with the current macro-economic scenario and the policy initiatives taken and proposed for further strengthening the Indian MSME Sector.

A high-level delegation led by Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of Vin Fast – a leading electric vehicle manufacturer from Vietnam visited NSIC on 28.08.2025.

A high-level delegation led by Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of Vin Fast – a leading electric vehicle manufacturer from Vietnam visited NSIC on 28th August 2025 to explore scope for collaboration in electric vehicle sector. During the visit Sh. Kartikeya Sinha DPM, NSIC shared insights on NSIC’s various schemes and programs designed to support the MSME sector with respect to skill development and entrepreneurship creation. The delegation visited the NSIC Technical Services Centre, Okhla, where Mr. Chau witnessed the training modules and appreciated the technical services being provided to empower youth with industry-relevant skills. Mr. Chau further apprised the CMD, NSIC about VinFast’s company profile, its future roadmap and expressed keen interest in building a partnership with NSIC to strengthen cooperation in the EV sector.

NSIC has signed an MoU with Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) to boost capacity building training in the automotive sector.

NSIC has signed an MoU with Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) to boost capacity building training in the automotive sector. This partnership will open new opportunities for youth, aspiring entrepreneurs and MSMEs with industry-relevant training, certifications and business opportunities in the automotive world.

The MoU was signed by Sh. Kartikeya Sinha, Director (Planning & Marketing), NSIC and Sh. Arindam Lahiri, CEO, ADSC in the presence of Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NSIC and senior officials of both organizations.

NSIC entered into MOUs with various private sector banks such as Axis Bank, Dhanlaxmi Bank, Karnataka Bank, AU Small Finance Bank and IndusInd Bank

Towards the objective of facilitating availability, accessibility & affordability of credit to MSMEs, NSIC entered into MOUs with various private sector banks such as Axis Bank, Dhanlaxmi Bank, Karnataka Bank, AU Small Finance Bank and IndusInd Bank on 11th August, 2025 under its MSME Credit facilitation program.
The collaboration aims to extend handholding support to MSMEs and help them link to the formal financial system, with increased focus on the Banks to expand their outreach to deserving micro & small enterprises, the arrangement is expected to be a force multiplier in the efforts of Banks reach the last mile.
The Occasion witnessed august presence of Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, Hon’ble Minister of MSME and Shri S.C.L. Das Secretary (MSME). The MoUs were exchanged between Shri Gaurav Gulati, Director (Finance), NSIC and senior officials from various banks in the presence of Ms. Mercy Epao, JS(SME), Dr. S. S. Acharya, CMD, NSIC and other senior officials from NSIC and banks.

Visit of Delegation from Ministry of Industry, Government of Thailand on August 6, 2025

A four-member delegation led by Mr. Supakit Boonsiri, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Government of Thailand visited NSIC on August 6, 2025.
The delegation held detailed discussions with leadership of NSIC, focusing on avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the MSME sector. The NSIC team was led by Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, Chairman and Managing Director, along with Mr. Kartikeya Sinha, Director (P&M).
As part of the visit, the delegation was given a guided tour of NSIC’s Advanced Training Centre at Okhla. The tour was facilitated by Mr. O.P. Singh, Senior General Manager (Technology), Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Senior General Manager & Centre Head- NTSC Okhla and officials from the International Cooperation Division. The visiting team was briefed about NSIC’s advanced training modules and initiatives aimed at promoting Industry 4.0 adoption among Indian MSMEs.

Visit of Delegation from High Commission of Papua New Guinea (PNG), New Delhi on August 5, 2025

A delegation from the High Commission of Papua New Guinea (PNG), New Delhi, led by Mr. Philbert Keaike, First Secretary accompanied by Mr. Barun Mukherjee, Finance Officer visited NSIC on August 5, 2025. 
The visit involved discussions with NSIC leadership and revolved around enhancing bilateral business cooperation with PNG, particularly in setting up of incubation Centre, imparting skill development trainings and creating linkages between MSMEs of both countries. The NSIC team was led by Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, CMD, Mr. Kartikeya Sinha, Director (P&M) and Mr. Gaurav Gulati, Director (Finance). 
The delegation was also given a guided tour of NSIC’s Rapid Incubation Centre & Advanced Training Centre, Okhla by Mr. O.P. Singh, SGM (Technology), Mr. Rajesh Kumar, SGM & Centre Head-NTSC Okhla and the team from International Cooperation Division.

Shri K. Moses Chalai, Secretary, DPE, Ministry of Finance (GOI), alongwith other officials of the DPE visited NSIC-Technical Services Centre at Okhla.

Shri K. Moses Chalai, Secretary (DPE), Ministry of Finance (GOI) visited NSIC-Technical Services Centre at Okhla, New Delhi. They were accompanied by Dr. S. S. Acharya, CMD, NSIC, Shri Kartikeya Sinha, Director (P&M), NSIC and Shri Gaurav Gulati, Director (Fin.), NSIC. During this visit Secretary (DPE) was apprised of various state of the art facilities for Skilling and Entrepreneurship Development. He was given live demonstration of Drone Soccer and AR /VR lab. He also visited the Advanced Training Centre and witnessed Industry 4.0 training facilities and opened a new robotic centre at the facility.  On this occasion, he also distributed certificates to trainees who successfully completed their training program of Mobile repair, Advance electrician, Design training and Incubation for self-entrepreneurship. Secretary, DPE appreciated the initiatives of the NTSC Okhla and emphasized the need for similar centres across the country for socio economic upliftment of the youth and society
