Introduction

Marketing, a strategic tool for business development, is critical for the growth and survival of MSMEs. Due to the lack of information, scarcity of resources and unorganized ways of selling, marketing, MSME sector often faces problems in exploring new markets and retaining the existing ones.

Keeping in view these facts, the Ministry of MSME has introduced the following two schemes being implemented by NSIC to enhance the marketing of products and services in the MSME sector:

Procurement and Marketing Support Scheme (PMSS) View (opens in new tab)

Eligibility Condition

Manufacturing/Service sector MSMEs Udyam Registration.

Selection of MSEs

The MSME unit shall apply to the nearest NSIC field office — Our Offices — and the application is accepted in online mode through PRISM only (31 days for SMAS & 90 days for PMSS) prior to the commencement of trade fairs/exhibitions.

After due scrutiny by NSIC field/Zonal office, the applications shall be forwarded to the Exhibition Division, NSIC Corporate Office who thereafter will compile and submit the respective proposals to NSSH Cell (for SMAS) and to Office of DC-MSME, Ministry of MSME (for PMSS) for approval of the respective Competent Authority.

The Competent Authority for approval of MSMEs participation:

  • Under SMAS is Project Screening Committee, Ministry of MSME.
  • Under PMSS is Empowered Committee, Office of DC-MSME, Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
