CMD, NSIC greets Hon’ble Minister of MSME on Holi Eve

On the eve of Holi, Sh. Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC greeted  Sh. Kalraj Mishra, Hon`ble Minister of MSME with “Best wishes and Colourful Holi” on behalf of NSIC.  Hon’ble Minister reciprocated the same and conveyed “Let the holi brighten up the colors of NSIC fraternity”.

High Level Delegation from Sudan visits NSIC

A high level delegation led by H.E. Mirghani Saleh SA Zeiada, the Governor of Elgadarif, Republic of Sudan along with Minister of Finance & Economy, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the province accompanied by Ambassador of Sudan in India visited NSIC on 22/3/2016. <br>

The delegation was received by Sh. Satvinder Singh Sr. General Manager at NSIC’s Technical Service Centre at New Delhi. Sh. Singh besides briefing them about NSIC’s activities in promoting & developing MSMEs in India also discussed with them how NSIC can assist in developing MSMEs in Sudan. The Sudanese delegation showed keen interest in small projects housed in NSIC’s Rapid Incubation Centre and felt that these projects can very easily be assimilated into Sudanese industrial environment thus engaging youth and unemployed with gainful self-employment opportunities.

Sh. Kalraj Mishra, Hon’ble Minister of MSME inaugurates 6th Women Entrepreneurship Conference

Sh. Kalraj Mishra, Hon’ble Minister of MSME, Government of India inaugurated the “6th Women Entrepreneurship Conference” organised under the Conference Chairmanship of Sh. Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC by Delhi Management Association on 17th March, 2016. Hon’ble Minister while appreciating the Role of women in development of country on all front apprised the women entrepreneurs of various initiatives taken by his Ministry i.e. Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
Sh. Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC and Conference Chairman informed that objective of the Conference was to spread awareness amongst the women entrepreneurs about the emerging opportunities in view of Launch of India’s Start-up and Stand-up Program and the eco system created for the same. Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh, was present as Guest of honour. Large number of women entrepreneurs were present in the Conference.
The Chief Guest, Sh. Kalraj Mishraji also presented the Prashashti Patra to number of successful women entrepreneurs who excelled in their field.

Managing Director, Bank of Industry, Nigeria Visits NSIC

Mr. Waheed A. Olagunju, Acting Managing Director, Bank of Nigeria called upon Mr. Ravindra Nath, Chairman & Managing Director, NSIC to discuss various areas of cooperation for the development of SMEs in Nigeria on 15/3/2016. He was apprised by Mr. Nath about how NSIC has been promoting and developing MSMEs in India through its various self-sustaining schemes which are instrumental in enhancing the competitiveness of NSIC.

Oseni, Chief Risk Officer of Bank of Industry, Nigeria also visited NSIC’s Rapid incubation Centre where he was shown how small industry projects can be instrumental in creating self-employment opportunities for Youth thus mitigating unemployment problem in a country.

Experience Sharing Delegation from Ethiopia Visits NSIC

A high level delegation led by Mrs. Demitu Hambisa, Hon’ble Minister of Public Enterprises, Government of Federal Republic of Ethiopia on its experience sharing mission visited NSIC on March 15, 2016. Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC welcomed the delegation and apprised them of various activities undertaken by NSIC for the development & promotion of MSMEs in the country and abroad.  The delegation was also taken around NSIC’s Rapid Incubation Centre and briefed about the importance of such Incubation support in the creation of Entrepreneurs and Small Enterprises for generation of self-employment opportunities. Mrs. Demitu Hambisa, Hon’ble Minister of Public Enterprises, Government of Ethiopia said that Ethiopia will like to seek NSIC’s cooperation for the development of SMEs in Ethiopia.  Present on the occasion were Sh. M. Subbarayan, Joint Secretary, and Sh. Kailash Bhandari, Dy. Director from Department of Public Enterprises, Mr. Satvinder Singh, Sr. General Manager, NSIC amongst other officials.

NSIC celebrates International Women Day

On the occasion of International Women`s Day, NSIC organised an exclusive Training program on 07-08 March 2016 titled " Encouraging Women Empowerment “ wherein only the Women Employees of the Corporation were invited to participate. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC said women are also the backbone and the indominatable spirit behind the growth of NSIC. The program encouraged participants to share their experiences on various Functional Schemes and Behavioural Topics Like Image Management ,Business Communication, Role of NSIC in “ Make in India” & “ Skill India”,etc. 26 employees posted at various NSIC Branch offices all over the country participated. The Program was inaugurated by Ms. Seema Singh, Senior General Manager, Bhartiya Mahila Bank and Ms.Prachi Aggarwal, AGM,Bhartiya Mahila Bank.

FICCI organises Industry interaction with Indian Army in association with NSIC

FICCI has organized Industry interaction with Lt. Gen. Subrata Saha, UYSM, YSM, VSM** Deputy Chief of the Army Staff (P&S) in association with NSIC on 04.03.16 at Bangalore. NSIC Bangalore Office played vital role in inviting high end MSMEs for fruitful interaction and giving out of box ideas and suggestions. The event was resounding success. Most of the participants were NSIC resisted/assisted MSMEs. The event was attended by more than 100 participants even though we were expecting only 70-80 participants relevant MSMEs.

Lt. Gen. Subratasha, UYSM, YSM, VSM** Deputy Chief of the Army Staff addressed the participants and explained the purpose of his visit to Bangalore and the focus which the army is giving to MSME sector to boost the Make in India initiative of Government of India. He had requested the MSMEs to be more innovative and focus more on R&D and quality control. Deputy army chief also elaborated on how the MSMEs can benefit through defence procurement mechanism. Senior Officers from the Army made detailed presentations on the list of items where the MSMEs can be given emphasis through defence procurement procedure and briefed about various requirements of Indian Army.

Col. (Retd.) H. S Shankar, VSM, Chairma, FICCI Defence Sub – Committee on Indian Defence SME, CMD, Alpha Design Technologies Pvt. Ltd. made a presentation on role of MSMEs in make in India initiative with focus on defense perspective. He also highlighted various challenges faced by MSMEs while dealing with Defense Departments. Many of the MSMEs requested the Chief Guest to give more impetus to MSMEs in Defence Offsets. Zonal General Manager, NSIC Shri P.Ravi Kumar highlighted the role of NSIC and requested the army delegation to extend the benefit of exemption of EMD etc., Deputy Chief of Army and Brigadier in charge of procurement enquired more about NSIC registration and how it is done.

NSIC-Technical Services Centre (Rajpura) organises Job Fair

NSIC –Technical Services Centre (Rajpura) organised a Job Fair for Placement of NSIC students completing various skill development and enhancement programs at the NSIC – TSC (Rajpura). The job fair was open for all the passed out and currently studying trainees .145 nos. of aspirants participated in the job fair and 45 Nos. of applicant trainees were selected by the participating companies.

The Industrial association member units of Punjab appreciated the efforts of NSIC –TSC (Rajpura) in conducting relevant Industry Oriented courses as per the need of the Hour such as Computer Software & Hardware Maintenance, Electrician, Welder, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration. The participating MSME units adopted a structured professional methodology for recruitment at the Job Fair ,such as each participating Company first briefed the Job Aspirants about their company profile and the job requirements, registered the applicant trainees along with their Bio-Data & tested their preparedness of their respective NSIC –TSC Courses & certificates prior to one to one interview.

NSIC (Andheri) in association with MSME –DI, Mumbai organized a Vendor Development Program recently at Jai Ambe Industrial Estate, Bhivandi for SMEs / Entrepreneurs located in the Thane region to promulgate NSIC Schemes. Sh. Mahendra Malviya, Assistant Manager, NSIC highlighted the benefits of NSIC Schemes. 60 Nos of SME entrepreneurs has participated in this event.

NSIC (Jamshedpur) encouraging Tribal Entrepreneurs

NSIC (Jamshedpur) in association with Akhil Bhartiya Adivashi Vikash Parishad and Jharkhand Mahila Udyami Sangh organized 15 days Marketing Campaign for Tribal Women located in the region of Birsa Nagar, Purvi Singhbhum (Jharkhand).The tribes of Jharkhand residing in the interior of Jharkhand are mainly engaged in making the Chhou Mask made of Paper Mache in Singhbhum, wooden artwork,Bamboo artwork, Pottery, tribal jewellery,  Godna and Tribal Weapons.

NSIC (Jamshedpur) took the initiative to make the tribal women of this region to upgrade their skills and appraised them of the changing competitive environment and to come forward for availing the benefits of various NSIC schemes like B2C web portal, B2B web portal etc. The successful women entrepreneurs of “Jharkhand Mahila Udyami Sangh” were called to provide the training wherein about 30-50 numbers of tribal women participated during the said period.

In addition, NSIC (Jamshedpur) also facilitated the Women Entrepreneurs of this program to participate in the leading Krishi Mela (Jamshedpur) with their own prepared items in the segments of Food Processing like  pickels from amla, Tomato, Mixed Vegetables, Tomato ketchup, coriander leaf, papad, Bari, Cutting and Boutique works items like self-designed & stitched cloths and Painting on cloths. Shri Bijay Kumar Sharma, Senior Branch Manager, NSIC (Jamshedpur) managed this unique initiative in the region.
