South African Ministerial Delegation Visits NSIC to Explore MSME Cooperation
A high-level ministerial delegation from the Republic of South Africa, led by Hon’ble Ms. Stella Tembisa Ndabeni, Minister of Small Business Development, visited NSIC on June 01, 2026. The visit was undertaken as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector and to explore opportunities for institutional cooperation between India and South Africa. The delegation was received by Dr. S. S. Acharya, CMD, NSIC and Mr. Kartikeya Sinha, Director (P&M). Delegates were briefed on the overview of the MSME sector of India, the enabling institutional ecosystem and Corporation’s initiatives for supporting MSMEs through its various interventions. Discussions focused on experience sharing & enhancing cooperation between MSME stakeholders of both countries. Mr. Khathutshelo Thagwana, First Secretary, High Commission of the Republic of South Africa in New Delhi also joined the meeting. The visit included a guided tour of NSIC’s Advanced Training Centre at Okhla, New Delhi, where the Hon’ble Minister was briefed on NSIC’s initiatives in skill development, entrepreneurship promotion and technical support services that enable MSMEs to adopt modern technologies and improve product quality and productivity.
02 Jun 2026NSIC signs MoU with Andhra Pradesh MSME Development Corporation under TEAM Initiative
During the MSME Growth Summit 2026 held on 25.05.2026 at Vijayawada, NSIC Zonal Office, Hyderabad, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh MSME Development Corporation to jointly promote digital commerce adoption among MSMEs in Andhra Pradesh under the TEAM Scheme. The MoU was signed by Shri V.Suresh Babu ZGM, Hyderabad zone, NSIC and Shri Viswa.M, CEO, APMSMEDC. Andhra Pradesh and exchanged in the presence of Shri. N. Chandra Babu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Through this collaboration, both organizations will work together to enhance market access, strengthen digital capabilities, and facilitate MSME participation in e-commerce platforms. The partnership will focus on awareness creation, capacity building, onboarding support, and ecosystem development initiatives aimed at accelerating digital transformation and expanding business opportunities for MSMEs across the state.

Sh Bharat Khera IAS, Secretary MSME flagged a state-of-the-art ambulance at NSIC Head office under its CSR initiative in the presence of Dr S.S Acharya CMD NSIC , Sh Kartikeya Sinha Director (P&M) and Sh. Gaurav Gulati, Director(Finance) along with other senior officials from NSIC. This patient transport ambulance is aimed at improving healthcare services for super senior citizens,specially abled and less privileged section of society served by Gharapnaa –an old age home at Jammu managed by M/s Kallpoosh Foundation. The ambulance is equipped with modern facilities and emergency life-saving equipment, which will ensure timely response and better access to healthcare during medical emergencies. NSIC reaffirms its commitment towards a more caring and healthier society.

Dr. Rashmi Singh, IAS, Secretary, Department of Women and Child Development, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, visited the NSIC, Head Quarters at Okhla, New Delhi, on April 30, 2026, along with her team to explore opportunities for collaboration in promoting women entrepreneurship and skill development in Delhi. The delegation was received by Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, CMD, NSIC, along with Shri Kartikeya Sinha, Director (P&M), and Shri Gaurav Gulati, Director (Fin). During the interaction, Dr. Acharya outlined the evolving MSME landscape in India and highlighted NSIC’s integrated support framework encompassing technology facilitation, credit access, marketing assistance, skill development, and entrepreneurship and Livelihood incubation, along with its international engagement initiatives. As part of the visit,the delegation toured the LBI and the Adv.Training Centre at NTSC Okhla, where they engaged with trainees and observed ongoing skill development and entrepreneurship development programs
04 May 2026NSIC and SME Corporation of Papua New Guinea sign MoU to Boost MSME Collaboration
The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. (NSIC) and SME Corporation of Papua New Guinea (PNG) formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on April 23, 2026, in Mumbai to strengthen cooperation in the MSME sector. The MoU was signed and exchanged by Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, CMD, NSIC and Mr. Petrus Ralda, Managing Director of SME Corporation, PNG in the presence of Dr. Rajneesh, AS & DC-MSME, Ministry of MSME, Government of India. The MoU marks an important milestone towards deepening bilateral ties, more particularly in the MSME domain, by translating strategic intent into structured initiatives focused on technology, skilling, incubation, innovation and cross-border trade. The MoU was signed in the presence of Ms. Michelle Lau, Second Secretary, PNG High Commission New Delhi along with senior officials from Ministry of MSME, NSIC and SME Corporation, PNG.
24 Apr 2026Hon'ble Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Shri Jual Oram visited the NSIC Livelihood Business Incubator at Rourkela
In a major step towards tribal skill development and Micro- Enterprise creation in Odisha, Hon'ble Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Shri Jual Oram visited the NSIC Livelihood Business Incubator at Rourkela. He was accompanied by Smt. Rupa Dash, CEO of World Woman Foundation. The Minister was welcomed by Shri D.M. Nayak, Senior Branch Manager, NSIC Rourkela, along with the LBI team. During the visit, he reviewed the centre’s activities and appreciated its efforts in providing skill-based training to tribal youth. Hon'ble Minister reiterated his continued support to the LBI to strengthen and upscale the activities of the centre. He interacted with students undergoing training in tailoring, computer, bakery, beauty & wellness, electrician, and welding trades, and encouraged them to become self-reliant and pursue self-employment. NSIC-LBI Rourkela has trained many men and women, helping them get jobs or start their own small businesses, thereby supporting local economic growth.

Resonating with the theme for observing International Women's Day 2026 “Give to Gain” the National Small Industries Corporation in collaboration with Vyomini Social Foundation has donated 50 sanitary napkin vending machines to various Police stations and Nari Niketan Shelter homes in Delhi under its Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative. These machines were inaugurated by Smt Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister of Delhi in the presence of Dr. Subhransu Acharya, CMD, NSIC and Smt Rashmi Singh,IAS Secretary , Department of Women and Child Development (WCD) for the Government of NCT of Delhi in special ceremony held at Nirmal Chhaya Complex . The Chief Minister in her address appreciated NSIC stating that these vending machines will ensure that women in shelter homes and communities will have easy and dignified access to hygienic menstrual products.

He highlighted the role of NSIC, NVCFL and SRI Fund's contribution in the development of Indian MSME sector.

The National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, successfully organized the 1st National workshop on the MSME TEAM (Trade Enablement and Marketing) Initiative under the RAMP Programme on 24 February 2026 at the ICAR Convention Centre, National Agriculture Science Complex (NASC), New Delhi. The workshop marked a major step toward accelerating digital transformation and market integration of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), in line with the Government’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The event was graced by Shri Keshvendra Kumar, Joint Secretary (AFI), Ministry of MSME. Senior officials and key stakeholders present included Shri Kartikeya Sinha, Director (Planning & Marketing), NSIC; Ms. Ankita Pandey, Director – RAMP; Shri Rajesh Jain, CGM, NSIC; Shri Vidya Sagar Singh, Senior General Manager & Head, DIC Cell, NSIC and Shri Vibhor Jain, CEO, ONDC.

A high-level delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan, led by Mr. Sherali Kabir, Hon’ble Minister of Industry and New Technologies and accompanied by H.E. Mr. Lukmon Bobokalonzoda, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to India, visited NSIC on February 20, 2026. The delegation was received by Dr. S. S. Acharya, CMD, NSIC and Mr. Kartikeya Sinha, Director (P&M). Bilateral discussions focused on identifying areas of mutual interest and exploring avenues for cooperation, particularly in capacity building, skill development, technology transfer and creating linkages between MSMEs in identified sectors. The visit also included a guided tour of NSIC’s Technical Services Centre at Okhla, New Delhi, where the Hon’ble Minister was briefed on NSIC’s initiatives in skill development, entrepreneurship promotion and technical support services that enable MSMEs to adopt modern technologies and improve product quality and productivity.
20 Feb 2026Suriname Delegation Visits NSIC to Explore Cooperation in MSME domain
A three-member delegation from the Republic of Suriname, led by Mr. Rafiq Ilahi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation (EZOTI) and accompanied by Ms. Sunaina Mohan, Chargé d’Affaires, Embassy of Suriname in New Delhi and Mr. D. Prahladsingh – Policy Advisor visited NSIC on 18 February 2026. The purpose of the visit was to hold discussions with NSIC leadership, to understand MSME support system in India, gain insights into NSIC’s activities and explore potential business and cooperation opportunities. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. S. S. Acharya, CMD, NSIC, along with Mr. Kartikeya Sinha, Director (P&M) and Mr. Gaurav Gulati, Director (Finance). During the meeting, NSIC’s initiatives for MSME development were presented, highlighting areas of potential collaboration.
